Communication shapes how we work, relate, and move through change.
When it becomes clearer, many things become easier — not because life is simple,
but because you know how to respond differently.

Does this sound familiar?

You say the right thing — and still get the wrong result

A conversation with your manager, tension with a partner, or a misunderstanding with a colleague that keeps repeating itself.

You keep reacting in ways that don’t help

You explain too much, stay silent too long, soften what matters, or only speak up once frustration is already too high.

What used to work — no longer works

A new role, a new country, a new environment — and suddenly your usual way of communicating no longer lands the same way.

What becomes possible

More clarity and confidence in difficult situations

You understand what is happening beneath the surface — and how to respond with more intention instead of just reacting.

Less friction in work and relationships

Conversations become more constructive, boundaries clearer, and misunderstandings less draining.

A communication style you can rely on

You speak more clearly, listen more consciously, and handle important situations with more steadiness and impact.

What others say

Voices from people I’ve worked with

I no longer feel like an outsider.

Lena helped me see recurring patterns in my communication, understand the rules of professional communication in the European market, grasp the cultural nuances of my colleagues, and build new connections in a new place. I no longer feel like an outsider — and that feels incredible!

Anna

I left with practical tools I could apply immediately.

The consultation helped me formulate my pitch for a potential employer and repackage my professional experience. I received new ideas and practical tools on how to build dialogue during interviews and speak publicly. I will continue applying them.

Dasha

A conflict that had dragged on for months finally moved.

I was able to exit a conflict with my partner that had been dragging on for months with dignity. Honestly, I was convinced nothing could be changed anymore. I think anyone who wants to learn to resolve conflicts not through confrontation but through dialogue should come to these sessions at least once.

How I work

My approach combines practical communication frameworks, emotional intelligence, and context-sensitive strategy — here is some techniques that can work for you from today

SCARF

When someone reacts sharply or shuts down — even to a neutral request.

  1. 1 Identify: which of the 5 triggers was hit? (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, Fairness)
  2. 2 Reduce the threat: offer a choice, acknowledge a contribution, provide clarity
  3. 3 Strengthen the reward: emphasize significance and impact on the shared outcome
× Why did he immediately get defensive?
I touched his autonomy — I’ll rephrase it as a question, not a directive.

SBI Feedback

When feedback needs to be specific, fair, and easy to understand.

  1. 1 Describe the situation — when and where?
  2. 2 Name the observed behavior — what exactly?
  3. 3 Explain the impact — what did it cause?
× You always interrupt everyone.
In yesterday’s meeting (situation), you interrupted Anna before she could finish her thought (behavior). That led to her going quiet and the team losing her input (impact).

De-escalation

When a conversation becomes emotional and the professional level is lost.

  1. 1 Stop — consciously pause
  2. 2 Clarify the frame: It’s important to me that we resolve this.
  3. 3 Define a shared goal
× (Keep arguing until someone gives up)
I notice we’re getting heated. Let’s pause for a moment. We both want the project to go well — right?

Nonviolent Communication

When a conversation escalates emotionally and accusations start to dominate.

  1. 1 Observe — without judgment
  2. 2 Name the feeling
  3. 3 Express the need
  4. 4 Make a concrete request
× That’s disrespectful!
When the decision was made without my involvement, I felt irritated — being included matters to me. Can we agree to discuss such moments in advance?

A little about me

Lena Huppertz

For more than 17 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of communication, culture, and human dynamics — helping people and teams navigate complexity with more clarity, trust, and effectiveness.

During this time, I’ve contributed to more than 50 international projects and events — from communication skills workshops to leadership and transformation programs.

My work combines structured thinking with emotional nuance — so we can look not only at what is being said, but also at the context, tension, assumptions, and patterns shaping the conversation.

With an engineering degree and an MBA in Communications, I bring both analytical precision and a human-centered approach to the situations people often find hardest to handle alone.

I help you communicate in a way that creates more understanding, better decisions, and stronger working and personal relationships.

Good questions.

Here’s what people usually ask — about how sessions work, what to expect, and how to get started.

Need clarity for a conversation or situation that matters?

If you’re dealing with a conversation, pattern, or dynamic that keeps costing you energy — let’s look at it together.

In the first session, we identify what is really happening and what would help move things forward.
